STARTING MAY 2013 we will be changing our grading/general graduation system to the IBJJF regulations and ranking system. We will be using the monthly grading system.

All belts are earned by the students for dedication, education, discipline, respect, team work and motivation to learn more. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu students are scored daily at the end of class on a 1-10

point scale based off of how well they listen, follow instruction, show respect (in & out of class), there dedication to show up to class on time and if they are a daily student or not. They are also scored on how quickly they learn a drill we are working on, how much they remember from a previous class and how much they participate in class.

Students must reach certain scores to be eligible to test for their next belt rank.

Kids Belt Ranks ages 5-15

White Belt: Beginner

Earn 50 Points for month credit to earn strip

Kids belt testing elliagablity is up to instructor

Adult Belt Ranks ages 16+

White Belt: Beginner

Earn 100 Points for month credit to earn stripe.

Earn 600 points to test for Blue Belt

Held Blue Belt rank for minimum of 2 years and have earned 2,400 points to test for Purple Belt

Held Purple Belt rank for minimum of 18 months and have earned 10,000 points to test for Brown Belt

Held Brown Belt rank for minimum of 1 year, at least 19 years of age and have earned 40,000 points to test for Black.

Testing elliagablity is up to the instructor

Additional points are required for each failed test before you are eligible to retest.

250+ for failed Blue Belt test

500+ for failed Purple Belt test

1,000+ for failed Brown Belt test

2,000+ for failed Black Belt test

TESTING

All testing is done on Saturdays. You must signup and pay in advance for a Saturday to test.
